Season One: Mic Icon Origins— Where the Journey Begins
Mic Icon Origins marks the inaugural season of Mic Icon and the official beginning of a platform created to discover, develop, and elevate the next generation of impactful voices in entertainment.
Hosted in Regina, Saskatchewan, this first season introduces a fresh and intentional approach to talent discovery across music, spoken word, and comedy. More than a competition, Origins is designed as a transformative journey that challenges creatives to move beyond performance and create work that carries meaning, originality, and influence.
At the heart of Mic Icon Origins is a defining belief:

This philosophy shapes every phase of the experience.
The Journey
Season One begins with an open call for submissions, inviting creatives to present a 3-minute audio or video performance. Contestants may enter with either a freestyle or an original piece, giving them the freedom to showcase both raw talent and creativity.
From these entries, fifteen contestants will be selected—five from each category:
- Music
- Spoken Word
- Comedy
These selected contestants will move into the next stage of the experience: Icon Camp.
